Background

Symbol: Sickness

Source: Tafsir al-Ahlam al-Kabir (Ibn Sirin)

Sickness in a dream is hypocrisy and corruption in religion, as Allah says, 'In their hearts is a disease.' It may also indicate health, well-being, and long life, which is one of the opposites in interpretation. The sickness of a ruler indicates his injustice. The sickness of children indicates their disobedience. Whoever sees himself sick while healthy in reality will live in prosperity that year but will be negligent in his worship.

Sickness indicates victory over enemies, long life, and achieving wishes. It may also indicate unemployment and poverty. Whoever sees himself sick and dies in his sickness, it indicates the righteousness of his religion and a good end. Sickness in the family indicates a deficiency in religion or a worry that afflicts them. A light illness indicates joy coming from enemies.

Sickness is interpreted as worry, grief, and deficiency in religion. Recovery from it is repentance, relief, and removal of worry. Whoever sees himself visiting a sick person is seeking the world and will obtain it. Whoever sees that his wife is sick is physically healthy but hypocritical in her religion.
