The house in a dream represents a man's wife, to whom he returns and in whom he finds cover. It may also represent his body. Whatever good or bad happens in the house reflects on the wife or the dreamer's body. Building a house indicates marriage for the unmarried or intimacy with family. A spacious house indicates abundant sustenance and the good character of the wife. An unknown house is the abode of the Hereafter; if it is spacious and beautiful, it indicates his good state after death.

The house represents the world. Whoever sees himself building a house is building his world and establishing himself in it. Demolishing the house indicates the death of its owner or a great calamity befalling his family. Whoever sees his house wider than it was, it is an abundance in sustenance and an exit from distress. Moving from a narrow house to a wide one indicates relief after hardship and the removal of worry. Entering an unknown house indicates the approaching death of a sick person.

The house is interpreted as the wife. Whoever sees himself renovating his house is renewing his relationship with his wife or marrying another if he is eligible. Whoever sees his house is made of gold, a fire will afflict it. Whoever sees himself carrying his house and walking with it, he is supporting a poor woman. A dark house indicates a man of bad character or a woman of bad character. A bright house indicates the opposite.
