Seeing gold in a dream is generally disliked and indicates financial loss and worry. Its name in Arabic (dhahab) suggests 'going away' (dhahab), and its yellow color indicates illness. Whoever sees that he has found an ingot of gold will lose his money or be afflicted with worry proportional to the ingot's size, or the ruler will be angry with him and punish him. Whoever sees himself melting gold will fall into a severe dispute, and people will speak ill of him. Men wearing gold indicates marrying into an incompetent family. For women, gold is adornment, joy, and happiness; what is worn on the neck indicates children, and what is worn on the hand indicates the husband.

Gold in a dream is not praiseworthy and indicates grief and evil, unless it is in the form of dinars (coins), which may indicate knowledge, guidance, or serving the ruler. Whoever sees himself wearing a necklace of gold, silver, or beads will assume a high position and fulfill a trust. Whoever sees his house made of gold, a fire will afflict it. Whoever sees his hands made of gold, they will stop working and become paralyzed. Wrought gold is adornment for women, but humiliation for men due to its association with women.

For women, seeing gold is praiseworthy and indicates joy, adornment, and marriage. Sound dinars (coins) are interpreted as pure religion and a good son.
