The dog in a dream is a foolish man, a weak enemy with little chivalry. A female dog is a lowly woman. A dog's bark is ugly speech from an enemy. A dog's bite is receiving harm from an enemy or betrayal from a friend. Whoever sees a dog tearing his clothes, a foolish man is backbiting him. A domestic dog is an enemy from the household, and a hunting dog (Saluki) indicates attaining authority.

The dog indicates worldly people. A shepherd's dog indicates benefit and sustenance. Eating dog meat indicates victory over an enemy and taking his wealth. Whoever sees himself fleeing from a dog will escape an enemy, but with fear. Black dogs are enemies from the Arabs, and white dogs are enemies from non-Arabs.

Befriending a dog indicates accompanying servants and relying on them. A female dog is interpreted as a worthless woman with no opinion. Whoever sees himself turn into a dog has learned knowledge but does not act upon it.
